About PT-141
PT-141 (bremelanotide) is a cyclic heptapeptide analogue of alpha-MSH that acts mainly at the MC4 receptor. Unlike melanotan II it has little pigmentary activity, so it is used to separate central melanocortin signalling from melanogenesis in receptor studies. Supplied as a lyophilised powder in a sealed vial, for laboratory research only.
