About Melanotan I
Melanotan I (afamelanotide) is a linear 13-amino-acid analogue of alpha-MSH with a substitution that increases its stability and MC1R affinity. Its selectivity for MC1R makes it the comparator used to isolate pigmentary signalling from broader melanocortin effects. Supplied as a lyophilised powder in a sealed vial, for laboratory research only.
